Introduction: Certificate in the Study of Public Accountancy
This certificate program is for SF State matriculated business students as well as students pursuing or possessing an undergraduate degree in business related disciplines from other accredited institutions who are interested in the field of public accounting. Students in this program will find that it will assist them in preparation to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Completion of this certification itself does not represent CPA certification.
The certificate program is offered by the Accounting Department and reflects what the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants regards as the common body of knowledge for CPAs. The content of the program will also enhance accounting students' formal business education.
Enrollment
Students in this program enroll through Open University.
Please Note: During fall and spring, all Open University students must show up to the first class session to see if the instructor can admit them. Open University students have a lower enrollment priority than regular University students. Admission to classes is entirely at the discretion of the instructor. If the instructor can admit you, they will provide you with a permit number which you can use to enroll online.
For complete information about the Public Accountancy program, see the Certificates page on their website.
