Spanish/English Interpretation Faculty

Alejandra Sosa Siroka

Alejandra Sosa Siroka has been fascinated by languages and communication since her childhood in Argentina and focused on English, Italian, German and Portuguese. Alejandra attended the National University of Córdoba where she earned two degrees: Public English/Spanish Translator and Teacher of the English Language. She later moved to Venezuela and developed an educational language and communication program for hotel employees there. During that time she also worked as a translator and interpreter in the hospitality industry.

In 1999 Alejandra moved to the United States where she started exploring the social and psychological power of language and understood effective communication transforms lives. At present, she is certified as a court interpreter in the Federal and California state court systems, works as a communication consultant facilitating trainings on effective communication to interpreters and professionals who work with interpreters, acts as the Northern District Director of Professional Development for CFI (California Federation of Interpreters), and belongs to the pool of Instructor at San Francisco State University in its Court and Medical Interpreting program.

Alejandra is also pursuing a Masters Degree program on Transformative Leadership at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
