Integrated Marketing Certificate

The Integrated Marketing Program

This program consists of six required courses, for a total of 72 hours of instruction. All six courses must be completed in order to earn a Certificate of Completion.

The elective courses, Marketing Your Career and Twitter for Marketing, cannot be applied toward the Integrated Marketing program certificate of completion.

Courses may be taken toward the certificate or on an individual basis. No prerequisites are required to participate in this program; however, it is strongly recommended that those earning the certificate of completion take Essentials of Integrated Marketing as the first course in the program.

All courses meet two weekday evenings from 6:00pm-9:00pm and one Saturday from 9:30am-4:30pm (a total of 12 instructional hours per course). Students must attend all scheduled course meetings.

This program is offered in tandem with SF State's Social Media Marketing program. Participants may choose to attend either program, but will gain the most benefit by completing both programs.

    (recommended first course)

Integrated Marketing Certificate of Completion

No academic prerequisites are required to participate in this program, however, advanced fluency in English for non-native English speakers is required. Intermediate level ESL speakers who wish to increase their fluency may take courses in the English for Professional Purposes before enrolling in the Marketing program. To receive a certificate of completion, participants must complete all six of the required courses (a total of 72 hours of instruction), within a period of two years.

The entire certificate program may usually be completed in two or three semesters.

Participants may also take any of the Integrated Marketing Program courses on an individual basis, with the exception of Putting It All Together: Integrated Marketing Campaigns, which is for certificate students only.

Students who wish to complete the certificate may download an application form above. The completed application form plus a $50 non-refundable application fee are due to the program office approximately four weeks before completion of the final course.

Continuing Education Units

Continuing Education Units (CEU) are nationally recognized units for measuring participation in professional development programs which do not award academic credit. CEU courses may be appropriate when employers, relicensure agencies and other authorities require a specific number of hours of study and where noncredit study is acceptable. CEUs may neither be applied to, nor substituted for, graduation requirements. One CEU is earned for 10 hours of instruction.

Program Cost

Required classes cost $325 per class, with the exceptions of Maximizing Search Engine Marketing ($375; includes lab fee). The total cost of the program, excluding text books, is $2,000. For courses that require an outside textbook, book prices are listed with each course. Course readers, created by instructors, are included in the price of the course.
