John Hafernik
John Hafernik, Chair/Professor of the Biology Dept, SF State. John's research focuses on 1) the evolutionary and ecological processes at the population or species level and 2) on the conservation biology of insects. He is especially interested in the evolution of mating systems, isolating mechanisms, and interactions between insects and their animal and plant hosts. John is also interested in ways that studies of insects can be used to test conservation biology theory and to provide measures of community health and change.
