Summer Session 2012 FAQ
Where do I find out my priority registration date/time?
Students can check their priority reg date/time on CEL GatorReg for summer 2012.
I think my priority registration date/time should be earlier. Who do I talk to?
Students should check the Priority Breakdown Lists.
Priority registration dates are programmatically assigned. Registrar's does NOT recalculate priority registration dates and adjust dates at the counter.
I'm a DPRC student, but my priority reg date is not on April 9th. What do I do?
Students registered with DPRC who do not have a priority registration date/time of April 9th should be directed to DPRC. DPRC will verify if appropriate paperwork is on file with their office, and if so, their office will adjust priority registration dates as necessary.
I'm a new admit for fall and don't have a priority reg date/time. How do I get one?
Students who are admitted to SF State for fall 2012 are considered non-matriculated students for summer 2012 so the first day that they can register is Monday, April 16th.
I applied for summer graduation and don't have a priority reg date/time. Can I get one?
Students who are graduating in summer are still considered continuing students for summer so they should have a priority reg date/time. If a student does not have one, they should go to Registrar's and their office can request that a date/time be generated for the student.
I applied for spring graduation and don't have a priority reg date/time. Can I get one?
No. Students who applied for spring graduation are considered non-matric for summer. The first day these students can enroll is April 16th.
I missed my priority registration period. Do I have to wait until April 16th to enroll?
After students miss their priority registration period, they can register from 7pm-midnight on any day between April 9th-13th. See Chart Below.

When do I pay?
Payment for course fees must be submitted AFTER registering for classes.
What is the payment deadline?
There isn't one set payment deadline for summer Session. Instead, payment due dates are dependent upon the session that a student enrolls. After a student enrolls for summer Session classes on GatorReg, the system will display their payment date.
In general, the dates will follow this pattern:
R1=May 18 / R2=June 1 / R3=June 22 / R4=May 18
Should I pay my fees immediately after enrolling?
You can add and drop classes online up until your payment due date as long as no payment has been submitted. Once payment is processed, however, our office will assume that your schedule is final and drops will only be allowed by contacting our office in-person at OneStop Student Services Center or by phone at 415.405.7700. If you are still working out your schedule, we recommend that you do not pay immediately.
What happens if I do not pay my fees by the payment due date?
Students who do not pay fees by their payment due date will be dropped from courses for non-payment.
NOTE: Students with a financial aid deferment are not dropped from classes for non-payment so these students will need to actively drop their courses to ensure they do not end up with an outstanding financial obligation to SF State and/or a failing grade in their course(s).
I applied for spring graduation but realized I won't graduate. What fees do I pay?
All students who apply for spring graduation are considered non-matriculated for summer and must pay the $393/unit fee for Summer Session classes. At the end of summer, CEL will recalculate fees owes and if students were denied graduation, students will only be refunded any overpayment that they made.
When will my financial aid disburse?
In general, financial aid will not disburse until the first week of the session that a student is enrolled in. For specific details, however, students should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid.
My financial aid will not cover the full cost of my class so I will have to pay part of the course fees. What is the deadline to submit my portion of fees if I am a financial aid student? What are the consequences if I fail to make payment by deadline?
July 27th is the payment deadline for financial aid students. Financial aid students with balances that remain due after the Payment Deadline of July 27th risk one or more of these post deadline consequences: being dropped from course(s); paying late fees, and/or a hold on future financial aid and registration.
