Summer 2020

MULT 9390

2.4 CEUs

Meant for designers and non-designers alike, this class builds on the Design-as-problem-solving theory and provides a practical introduction to the concepts of theme, design history, color theory, composition, contrast, and typography needed to understand client needs and work in design or work with designers. Topics also include combining and utilizing design principles and exploration of visual hierarchy, informational theory, technique and professional practices. Students who complete this course will begin to look at the world in a different way as they see how design solves complex problems. This class is ideal for designers who want an introduction or refresher, and non-designer students who often manage or work with designers. Technical proficiency not required as the class is more about the ideas and logic involved in creating assignments.
Recommended but not Required: Illustrator, Photoshop 1, Typography, Access to a decent library of different Fonts.
