Job Description:
• Develop drawings using computer aided design (CADD)
• Provides competency in computer assisted drafting to support development, planning, transportation or other technical services. Performs varied and highly complex computer aided drafting
• Performs tasks of higher complexity. Directs less experienced CADD Operators. Makes complex mathematical calculations. Generates roadway and bridge design, structural, survey and construction drawings, etc. Prepares layouts, drawings and design from rough or detailed sketches and/drawings. Analyzes design and confers with engineering staff to verify or resolve details not complete. Redesigns, modifies, or otherwise edits existing design. Other duties as assigned.
• Coordination with other design disciplines and consultants
• Collect data and gather information or documents
• Prepare drawings and visual aids

Job requirements:
• Must be a San Francisco or San Mateo County resident
• High school diploma plus 2 years specialized technical drafting, math or computer training
• Formal CADD training preferred and a minimum of nine years CADD experience required
• Familiarity with automated design programs
• Familiarity with civil design software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and InRoads
• Familiarity with BART facility standards is desirable
• An excellent communicator; good interpersonal, writing and verbal skills
• An active team player
• Must be able to work well in a team environment
• Ability to work in the county immediately is required
• BIM/Revit experience desirable

Our San Francisco office is seeking 3D-BIM Design Interns for 2018, in both our Buildings and Infrastructure divisions. As a 3D-BIM Design Intern, you will learn and apply the following:
• Introductory training to all the visual styles, discipline requirements and software
• Previous knowledge of 2D and 3D platforms, such as AutoCAD, Revit or Microstation will be consolidated upon, with skills assessments and on job training
• Detailed training and use of add-on software through on job use
• Multi-disciplinary coordination, how complete drawing packages are compiled (on the job)
• Learning about the CAD Skills Network (introduction course, on the job)
• Work closely with engineers and drafters to create drawing sets - documentation and archiving
• Work on drawings across disciplines to gain an appreciation of each role

• Currently Pursuing an Associate Degree in CAD technology, CAD drafting, solids modeling, or related field
• AutoCAD skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Overview of Position:
Entry Level Drafter - This position is part of Chevron’s Technology Marketing (TEMA) group located in Richmond, CA. TEMA, through a joint venture called Chevron Lummus Global (CLG), licenses and designs hydroprocessing technologies as well as providing technical and operational support to Chevron refineries and third-party clients.

The primary role of the Drafter is to accurately and timely complete a high volume of complex electronic drawings for the Engineering Design Packages (EDP).

• Draft Process Flow, Piping & Instrumentation and other diagrams for the EDP using COMOS (a Siemens Database software for front-end engineering design) and AutoCAD.
• Quickly adapt to COMOS training that will be provided by the company.
• Provide quality drawings for reviews and early deliverables.
• Follow work and drafting procedures and design codes, in strict accordance with company standards.
• Enthusiastic and cooperate with the rest of the CAD group and the project team.
• Actively demonstrate Chevron Way behaviors and promote Incident and Injury Free culture.

Required Qualifications:

• Competent level of expertise with AutoCAD.
• Computer literate with proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AS/Diploma Drafting and Design or equivalent experience.
