This four-hour course is designed for legal professionals new to the field of immigration law. It covers:
- Key differences between immigrant visas and non-immigrant visas;
- Essential aspects of family visas including how to navigate the Visa Bulletin, how to fill out the Affidavit of Support, how to use the Child Status Protection Act, and what to know about Consular Processing and the new "extreme vetting";
- How to overcome CIS's suspicion of fraud;
- Preparing an asylum application;
- Procedures in Immigration Court and Appellate Review;
- Applying for Naturalization and recognizing Automatic Acquisition of Citizenship.
