Prerequisites: Project Planning and Management Overview (PPMO) plus all required classes, or project management experience with faculty permission. This course is designed to prepare project leaders, coordinators and teams to take the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification examination or the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) examination. These professional designations are recognized worldwide and are administered by the Project Management Institute (PMI). The course identifies terminology nuances and tricky question wording which participants may experience during their exam.
The course reviews key project management principles, approaches, and performance domains within the new context of a Value Delivery system. Topics tie into the Exam Content Outline and its¿ three domains of: People, Processes and Business Environment. The traditional process chart components are now discussed as Methods, Models and Artifacts. At the completion of this course, students will be able to use a variety of strategies to complete their exam application, apply for, study for and sit for the PMP® or CAPM® Certification Exam.
