The Internal Revenue Service requires that students provide their Social Security Number when creating their student record in order for the University to generate a 1098-T form for qualified tuition and any education related tax credits. After a student record is set up, students will use their SF State Identification Number for every transaction at the University.
New students will need to use the Quick Admit site to set up an SF State ID and Password prior to registering.
If you are a returning student, you can look up your SF State Identification Number online using your Social Security Number and birthdate.
Your SF State Password is a secure password, created by you, that is used with the SF State Identification Number to login to your student record. If you do not have an SF State Password, you can request one using the SF State Password Service. Part of setting up your SF State Password is to select six security questions and answers that will be used if you need to reset your SF State Password.
Before requesting a password reset code please use the SF State Password Service to request a password change. Password reset codes can be issued to students after your identity has been confirmed.
A password reset code is given to you when you are unable to use the SF State Password service. Password reset codes are used to login to the SF State authentication service. Once a password reset code is entered you will need to select password reset questions before you set your password.
