International Relations Through Cinema
Explore world politics through film in IR 201/CINE 101: International Relations Through Cinema, a new Winter Session course offered Jan. 2–20, 2026.
This 3-unit online asynchronous class uses foreign cinema to explore key issues in international relations, including climate change, terrorism and nuclear politics. You’ll gain foundational knowledge for studying global affairs and develop a deeper understanding of international politics as an informed global citizen.
The course meets the Core Major Course Requirement for Cinema and International Relations or can count as an elective. It also fulfills Lower-Division GE-D1 and SFSU Studies: Global Perspectives requirements.
